Congratulations to the successful sea trial of the Damen 4800T Tanker

In the evening of December 19, the Damen 4800T tanker sailed back to Jiangnan Shipyard in Changxing Island, Shanghai after a 3-day sea trial. Van der Leun China is happy to be involved in the project. Our engineers Alex and Deng completed the commissioning for most of the electrical facilities including the thruster system before the sea trial. In the sea trial, all the facilities operated properly and passed the examination smoothly.  By the end of the month, the project was closed successfully. Congratulations to Damen!

Investing in the future

Van der Leun Study Fund foundation was set up! This foundation contributes to the education, training and study of the children of Van der Leun employees. By setting up this foundation, we invest in the future of the children of our employees. The official signature was made in middle of January!

We would like to thank TBI and Michiel Tromm in particular for all the help in setting up the foundation! The board consists of Financial Arie Erkelens, Chairwoman Anly Den Breejen, and Secretary Wim Vonk RBA.

Mission Accomplished! – Job completed for DCN Diving at the Enguri Dam

Van der Leun Electrical Marine Systems completed a job for DCN Diving at the Enguri Dam. The Enguri Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Enguri river in Georgië and is the largest in Europe. DCN diving will dredge a 300K m3 of sediment at 200+ meters of water-depth. For the dredging installation, Van der Leun designed, installed and integrated the HV and LV installation on-site and provided assistance with the commissioning.

A good collaboration on the German Diving Bell Ship with Praxis Automation and Damen

One week ago, Damen and Van der Leun worked together to contribute to the successful delivery of the Mega Guard engine-room alarm and monitoring system for the German FMSW Koblenz / WSA Rhine operating the vessel as diving support ship by Praxis Automation. Following her completion, the vessel has recently undertaken successful river trials.
