Sliedrecht has its statue as dredging image!
On September 25th, the ceremony unveiling a dredging statue was held in Sliedrecht. The statue consists of 7 dredging steel pipes. Sliedrecht is the cradle of the dredging industry. This inspired Maarten de Winter and BaggerBeeld to create the work conveying a special meaning symbolic to the industry. Van der Leun, together with 8 other companies sponsored the statue.
After the ceremony, the statue was formally handed over to the government of Sliedrecht City. It has been placed on the west exit of the national highway and represents a great sense of pride for this remarkable city.
16 sea-water filters will be delivered to our clients
On October 6th, Van der Leun manufactured 16 sea-water filters for our clients. The filters are made of RVS 316L 1.4435. All the sea-water filters passed the immersion test after the production. The WPS, WPQR and WPQ all comply with EN ISO 15614-1: 2017 Level 2 and are certificated by DNV-GL according to ISO 5817-class B.
Envisioning a greener future
Van der Leun is not alone in envisioning a greener future with sustainable energy. On October 6th, we were invited by TU Delft Solar Boat Team to share this vision for the maritime industry. It is our honor to combine our expertise in electrical systems with their great team and as a result, we were able to show the potential of a real boat on solar energy and together, move towards a greener future.
On October 7th, Sliedrecht, RTL Doe Maar Duurzaam was host to a television program which included an interview with Perry Damen, sales manager of CUBIC-Modulsystem A / S and Dirk Stouthart, the supply chain manager of Van der Leun on the sustainable development and innovation of the marine industry. Van der Leun demonstrated the applications of modular systems and the advantages of the panel designing and manufacturing.
A new electrical package for a Damen scientific marine research vessel
On October14th, Van der Leun signed an electrical engineering contract with Damen for the vessel of OSRV 8316. It is a scientific marine research vessel and will be built in Colombia, USA.
After its building, it will operate in Colombian waters in both the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea, it will also will sail to the Antarctic.
We have commenced the engineering work and will deliver the entire electrical installation and commissioning for OSRV 8316 according to our schedule.
