On the 4th of December 1920 Van der Leun was officially registered. That means today is a fantastic milestone of 100 years Van der Leun!

It all started with lamp and radio salesman Jan Cornelis Van der Leun. He replaced gas-powered lights by electrical lights. Since the store was near to the harbour in Sliedrecht he was increasingly called to carry out repairs on inland navigation vessels.
His sons extended the company and many years no dredger would leave without Van der Leun technology.

In 1962 Marius den Breejen took over with two colleagues.

In 1991 our current CEO Martin den Breejen took over from his father and expanded offices around the world and developed a strong 24/7 service network.

Today it is still a family owned company with 3 divisions: Electrical Marine Systems, Electrical Utility and Metalworks with over 220 employees and 9 branches all over the world. Learn more about our 100 years history, please click here!

Due to the Covid pandemic we postponed all events, but as soon the situation allows us we are planning to celebrate our anniversary together.
